125th Anniversary in 2007 Family Owned & Operated since 1882
Larsen
Bros. Lumber was founded March of 1882 by a Danish immigrant, Jens
Larsen. The company's original location was on San Leandro Blvd. until
1956, when a fire burned down the yard.
The yard was rebuilt
and in 1965 was forced to move to its Washington Avenue location after
the construction of BART. The company first sold coal, hay, feed
and lumber and provided materials for the construction of Lake Chabot
Dam.
Larsen Bros. Lumber has been successful for over four generations and is acclaimed as the oldest, continuous running business in San Leandro.
